Something to remember here...

I first heard this great song when I was a student at Lee College (now University) back in the early 1980s. Gary McSpadden is one of the co-writers of this great reminder:

Above His name there is no other name
The one who is eternally the same

There is no other name

The first and last, beginning and the end.

He was the King who made

the common man his friend

there is no other name.

let every tongue proclaim

And sing the name of Jesus

Chorus:

Magnify and praise the name of Jesus

No other name but Jesus

There is power in the precious name of Jesus, Jesus

Messiah King of Kings and Lord of Lords, Jesus

Verse #2

He created all there is with his own hands

And yet our smallest need He understands

There is no other name

The one who said "I am the great I AM"

and then He gave Himself a sacrifice for man

There is no other name, let every tongue proclaim

And sing the name of Jesus

Chorus:

Magnify and praise the name of Jesus

No other name but Jesus

There is power in the precious name of Jesus, Jesus

Forever He shall reign as King of Kings

He's Lord of all, and every Living thing

Yes, from now on we'll worship Him and praise

the name of Jesus

Magnify and praise the name of Jesus

No other name but Jesus

There is power in the precious name of Jesus, Jesus

Forever He shall reign as King of Kings

He's Lord or all, and every Living thing

Yes, from now on we'll worship Him

and praise the name of Jesus!

Praise the name of JESUS!

I have never heard this song before except through a preaching that my Pastor let me borrow. I don't even know the name of the couple that was singing it. They seem to be of an Indian culture. Anyways, I loved the song and was thinking about it so I googled it, I have not heard the original recording but the Sis. who sings this song sings it Powerfully. Just thought i would share that with you. God bless, and thank you for the lyrics. would love to find the piano chords for it!

This song frequently played on a Twin Cities am station in 1983. If you can tell me how to get the original song - original singers, etc. I would be very thankful. It was one of the most worshipful songs I had ever heard.
